Are You On Autopilot?

You may have been in your industry for years.  Knowing what you need to do, you start “the routine” each morning.

Just like being on autopilot, you wake up at a designated time, go to the same places, see the same people, do the same things.

Oh, you travel?  The same holds true for travelers over the course of a month or so, right?

You have a mission statement, but are you really who you say you are? Are you even who you think you are. (OUCH)

You, like most of us, intended to create that great company, be that great employee, or that great service provider.  Intentions are the first step, like mapping out your “flight plan”, but are you really focused and actively piloting that plane?

If you ARE what you say, great.  However, keeping up to the task takes effort. Things change so fast.  I went to a meeting last week and drank a glass of water from an Atmospheric Water Generator.  What?  Yep, you can now drink air.  A water dispenser, without the water.  No purchasing, lifting or storing heavy plastic water bottles. AMAZING.

All I can say is, whoever thought there could be competition for water??????? Well, of course, this makes sense when you think about the science, not that it matters if you were on auto pilot in the water bottle business!

If you are an entrepreneur or an individual who wants to be on top in this competitive and fast moving world, turn off the autopilot.

Take 5 minutes right now. Takes notes.  Answer these questions:

  1. Have your days been filled with strategically focused actions making the difference between surviving and excelling?

  2. How does the future look if you stay on autopilot?

  3. How does the future look if you make some aggressively focused changes?

  4. Do you have the courage to implement change?  Or do you want to stand still?

  5. If you want to change, or at least assess where you stand, when do you plan to start?  The only good answer is NOW.

If you want to assess your service levels or make those changes, take action.

If you know what to do, document a simple plan and at least get it started.  Momentum can’t take over until you press the start button.
