I have followed Tony Robbins on and off throughout the years, knowing one day I would find the time and opportunity (actually at the same time) to attend one of his seminars.
Well, I am happy to report that I can now check that one off my list. Done!
A review of my thoughts driving to the first session:
Four days in seminars, CHECK
Unbelievably long days into nights, CHECK
Walking on fire, um, how do I say this? NO WAY!
Of course, what I failed to consider, was that I would be attending alongside my crazy fun friends from both ABWA (American Business Woman’s Association) and Toastmasters. Well if they can do it, I can do it, right? WRONG! No way! You see, I am what you might call a wimp! “No pride here. Have fun; I will wait on the sidelines and cheer you on” I said.
Well, at least, that was my plan!
As we started the first-day session, I thought, maybe if Tony can get my head wrapped around this I will do it. I mean he has four days to get me there. Wrong again! By the end of the first day, there we were walking on fire.
Yep, I did it! Stepping into the unknown is not scary. Stepping into the known, well, that’s scary. I knew walking on hot burning coals would create badly burnt feet. Right? I KNOW THAT! Have you heard the saying “you don’t know what you don’t know”?
Well, I still have no idea how I didn’t get burnt, badly. None of us that I know of were severely burned. There were some that claimed minor injuries but WOW. What an experience.
We DO have a “Power Within.” It is absolutely amazing what we can do if we put our minds in the right frame. But we must first be willing to put ourselves out there. (Of course, with someone like Tony Robbins to be sure we don’t end up in the emergency room!)
I was scared, but be quite assured I listened, learned, and was very focused. I accomplished more than I ever thought possible.

The best of the best are always learning and pushing forward, I learned a lot in those four days, but I’m not done. I fully intend to keep pushing, keep improving, keep looking for better ways of doing things. I owe that to my customers. How about you?
