Wishing YOU Peanut Butter & Jelly Kind of Days in 2020

Anyone that knows me also knows I am extremely driven. I work more than I should and love every minute of it!

Those that know me deeply also know I am a little/big thing kind of person. I appreciate the little things people do that make an impact, a difference. A small, thoughtful gift for no reason. Using words with meaning, with heart, that can touch someone in pain or that simply need encouragement. Little/big things make you (us) different, remembered, and stand out.

Most people also know I love family and friends deeply, and hold onto the little memories that fill my heart.

So then, what does Peanut Butter and Jelly have to do with anything I just wrote?  In October of this year (2019), my husband and I flew to Chicago to visit family. One of those days, I was making my grandson Thomas (yes, the cute little guy in the photo) a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Although most people that know me well also know I am not great in the kitchen department, HOWEVER, I did feel skilled enough for the task. Until that is, my grandson abruptly stopped me.

You see, I started to use a spoon to scoop out the peanut butter and jelly. “Grandma, you can’t use a spoon!!!” he boldly explained, “you need a butter knife!!!”  So, of course, I followed his instructions. Success! He was happy with his sandwich and grandma!

Fast forward: Every morning, for the past year or so I make myself one slice of bread with a little peanut butter and jelly, but now I smile.

This one little memory starts my day off with a warm and happy memory. Do you have a little/big thing that makes you smile in the morning? I’m guessing you do…. think about it.

Wishing you many Peanut Butter and Jelly moments in the New Year.  Yes, we must work toward our dreams. Bring in the new year, with polished extended, or even new goals. Plan them and execute with sound vision, process, and passion, but remember to think about, and never let the little and big moments of happiness leave your heart.

Happy New Year!

P.S. Don’t tell Thomas, but I still use a spoon!
